Super Saturday-According to the company, this is usually the last step in the recruitment process. It is attended by the candidates who have passed the on-campus step successfully. This stage starts with a Friday evening dinner followed by six half-hour interviews and finally a lunch meeting where final hiring is done. This is the stage where the last decision on who is the best, worthy and qualified candidate for the job. This kind of hiring decision is very effective because of the interviews which are involving and thorough (Murray, 2005). In conclusion, the companys hiring decisions points and hiring process are good and effective for their work because they seem to be detailed and focusing on the companys objectives (Bach and Edwards, 2013). The hiring process may be long and tiresome but it is worth all the effort because at the end of it all, they seem to get the perfect candidate for the hiring (Badawy, 2008). Evaluation of Some Criteria Used By Firms When Making Hiring Decisions. Different firms use different methods when hiring employees. Some of these methods are: conducting interviews- Some firms interview their candidates with an aim of getting first-hand information directly from them (Guest, 1997). Most of the times, they are able to get the exact character and general view of the employee in terms of their communication ways. Asking for referees- Employee references-Generally, for every employer to make the right decisions on hiring a candidate, they have to counter check a potential employees past or previous work information (Naidu and Chand, 2014). Two Candidates That I Would Choose Natalya Godlewska From the given information, Natalya has an average GPA grade but when compared to others, it is the best. Natalya attended her informational interview and emerged one of the top candidates from Cornell to proceed for Super Saturday interviews. Andy Sanchez From the case study, Andy had already obtained a degree in Economics from the University of California and was studying MBA at the University of Southern California. In addition to that, he was a successful entrepreneur who dealt with students and teaching therefore had some experience in teaching. Andy was said to be very enthusiastic and personable which are very great characters. Furthermore, Andy seemed to be very committed to SG Cowen and really wanted to be associated with it. This was evidenced by the fact that he made a lot of effort for him to do his informational interview and sacrificed so much even to have talks with other associates. He made frequent follow ups on his interviews by sending emails to SG Cowen and talking to any other person who was involved with the recruitment. This was because as stated by Rae, commitment was the main character that SG Cowen should consider and this is what was going to save Andy from elimination. Negative Hiring Experience in an Organization. A candidate lacks some information-This is according to Rothwell and Kazanas, 2003 studies and research. E.g. the case of Martin Street where he did not have any grade results mentioned and so there was no way for SG Cowen to evaluate his technical skills and capabilities. According to the information given about other candidates, it was a requirement for a candidate to mention his or her educational grades and scores. Therefore, even with the fact that Martin had all other requirements and skills and had qualified in all other grounds, it would be hard for SG Cowen to come up with a fair way of evaluating and interviewing him. Organization not treating all candidates equally (Danley et al, 1996)-SG Cowen went to Wharton towards the end of the interview period which meant that they had to interview Martin being the last Candidate. In addition to that, one of the interviewers said that people either want to work for SG Cowen or they work for other firms. This statement sounded like a threat not only to those who wanted SG Cowen but also those who wanted to work for other different firms. The statement also sounded rude and careless considering the fact that it was made by a banker o interviewer from the same firm that was going to conduct interviews in the school, SG Cowen. No freedom over details on the candidates information-Martin had informed SG Cowen earlier that he was undertaking many different finance courses but when they came for the recruitment he warned them not to ask him about his finance grades because it was not allowed by the recruiting rules of Wharton. The school rules acted as a limitation for Martin and therefore it must have been difficult for SG Cowen to find other methods to consider in interviewing Martin and find out whether he was qualifying for their recruitment. Difficulties in interview scheduling-Martin had difficulties when it came to scheduling a Super Saturday interview even after passing those other interviews that were required for a candidate to proceed to Super Saturday interview. This was because he made himself busy with recruitment in other firms and had no enough time to be committed to SG Cowen. Even though Martin had mentioned that he liked smaller firm and specifically liked SG Cowens line of specialization, SG Cowen focused their attention on candidates who were ready to be committed to it fully with no divided attention and only them. An organizations fear of hiring the candidate (Gatta et al, 2005)-SG Cowen feared that Martin would play them with other firms that he was currently working for incase they hired him. This was because of the fact that he seems to like small firms and enjoys working with them all. Furthermore, this fact brings out some concern to SG Cowen interviewers of getting betrayed by him and the probability of Martin being disloyal to the firm. This was therefore a clear indication to SG Cowen firm that he was not really ready to work with them and to be fully committed to them and therefore the probability of them hiring Martin became very low or none at all. Mark Twain Writings Mark Twain is regarded as one of the most prominent American authors. Twain was born Samuel L. Clemons several years prior to the Civil War in a small town of Hannibal, Missouri. Much of his boyhood was spent frolicking in the muddy brown waters of the Mississippi. After his fathers death early in his life, Twain was hired for his dream job as a Steamboat Captain on the Mississippi River. This chance was cut short by the start of the Civil War. Twain spent several years as a confederate volunteer, but this did not last either. Twain struck out for the west hoping to make a fortune as a silver prospector. The only richness Twain achieved searching for silver was plenty of experiences on which he could write. His first successful publication "Jim Smiley and His Jumping Frog" is a collection of stories Twain heard while living in the mining camp in Nevada. After his failed attempt at a quick fortune, Twain returned to the east. This is where he published his most famous works which included Tom Sawyer and it's sequel Huckleberry Finn. Twain was regarded as a humorist because of his lively imagination that sent his stories into the realm of outlandish. His most highly acclaimed novel Huckleberry Finn appears to be nothing more than a boys tale at first glance, but in actuality it is taught in college literature classes because of it's underlining satires and themes. It was even considered to be subversive at the time when it was written because of it's anti-government ideas. This story as it appears tells of a young boy, Huckleberry Finn, and his adventures as he travels down the Mississippi. Along the way he picks up a few passengers. The first of these is Jim, a runaway slave. Huck, as he is called for short, decides instead of turning Jim into the authorities, that he will help him get to the free state. Before long Huck and Jim are accompanied by to scam artists, the King and the Duke. The novel elaborates on the tales of these four completely different individuals as the float lazily down the Mississippi. Huck journey down the rivers is not only an adventure, but it is also a conversion from boyhood into an adult. Twain uses the cover of an adventurous boys tale to satirize many of the things that he found to be wrong with society. Although the book was published more than a decade ago, many of the problems that occurred in Twain's society are still prevalent today. One such topic that Twain satirizes heavily in the book is the institution of religion. This criticism of religion can be seen from the start of the book all the way through to the very end. A problem that Twain finds very disgusting about the institution of religion is the hypocrisy. An example of this is the Widow Douglas. The Widow Douglas is more concerned with the behavior of other people than she is of herself. In one case she tells Huck that he cannot smoke because it is dirty; God would not approve, but she herself dips snuff. Another thing that Mark Twain finds ridiculous about religion is the pure stupidity of it all. As in his short story "Letters From Earth" where Twain criticizes humans belief of heaven, Twain does so in a more light hearted manner in Huckleberry Finn: "she went on and told me all about the good place. She said all a body would have to do there was to go around all day long with a harp and sing , forever and ever. So I didn't think much of it. But I never said so." Although it doesn't seem like much of an attack on religion, Twain so cleverly does this many times throughout the story to make a vivid point. If Mark Twain were to write Huckleberry Finn today, there is no doubt that he would be quick to make these criticisms about religion again. Everyday people have to open there newspapers and turn on their televisions to news of Priests and ministers molesting young boys and stealing others money. If anything it has become worse of a problem than before. There are men that stand out on college campuses and on busy street corners yelling and screaming about the downfall of the sinner society of which many are a part of. Conceptual Framework Statement of the Problem Many of the problems concern the management and employees of money lending companies today. From manual to automated system, is one way of minimizing the problems of having data loss, miscalculation, and secured record keeping of the debtors. The proposed system will have a solution for the problems. How will the proposed system be able to lessen the time and work needed to compute the loans and interests? Can this proposed system be a tool to organize the records needed by the company and data of debtors? What safekeeping measures can we create to avoid redundancy of debtors files? Significance of the Study The significance of this system with regards to the direct person which is the organic employee of the company are the following; in keeping up with the records of the companies clientele it would be easier and more accessible on their part to look it up on a computer database which is more secured and accurate than to rummage it in a manual records filing cabinet. And in keeping an up to date records of the daily transactions of the clients, the strain of manually inputting the records of the daily transactions of a particular client in the record files, it would be much easier for them to directly input the said transactions in the computerized system for the ease of record filing. With regards to the indirect person or debtors, the system will automatically give them an insight to their present loan transaction, wherein they could easily update their loan payment and their loan status; it would also give them more ample time for their other concerns by shortening the time that they will spend in manually inquiring about their loan status. The debtors will also avoid incurring penalties on their loans because the system will alert the company employees of the debtors who are delinquent in their payment of loans. It would also be an ease for the debtors to deal with the companies employees because all the concerns with regards to their loan transactions are all in real time versus the time consuming manual system that would take days to undertake a general loan status inquiry. With regards to the direct impact of the system program on the company, they will for sure attract more clients or debtors to their company because of the ease of transacting business, wherein the computer program system will assist them in all their dealings with their clientele. In terms of Human resources, the company will save time and money by employing a minimal number of employees working for them, because the computer program system in the company will always assist a particular employee in every aspect of their work, and their working conditions will not be too strenuous, because every diverse detail of it can be readily accessible on their computer system program. The company will surely reap more profits and will make a good use of their saved time in other concerns of the company because of using the system program. Scope and Delimitation Scope The proposed system, Money Lending Information System will replace the old paper based system used by Alay Buhay Development Foundation Inc The Money Lending Information System shall be used companys administrator to assess the interest or calculate the annual strain without having problem computing. The system shall be programmed and designed Visual C#. The database which will contain all the data borrower or employer will be stored and kept secure using with Microsoft SQL (MSSQL) and OLEDB will be use to connect the user-interface and database. Advance skill in Visual C# shall provide a very user-friendly interface not only in the staff but for the administrator as well. Before the step proper, the borrower or employer will ask to fill-up a simple information sheet and after the fill-up, the staff will input the information in the proposed system in order to store their credentials in the company database. Their information will be kept in the database for future references. If the borrower or employer will passed the interview and approved, the staff will input necessary information such as type of payment, how much to be borrowed, due date, interest, requirements and other important information. If the old system uses Microsoft Excel to store the borrowers information and compute the interest and payments, the proposed system can convert assessment that are made through Microsoft Excel, the staff are now exempted through manual transferring of data in the database. Emails and text messages will be received by the borrower or employer couple of days to notify them for the due dates. The proposed system will be precise and accurate for the integrity of the company. This system ought to minimize the work load from employees who would have better things to do rather than computing for a long period of time. The borrower or employer is also restricted in editing or deleting any previous content that they have already placed. Delimitation If by any chance that electrical failure or hardware malfunction occurs, the old system will always come in handy. Electrical failure may cause the computers and other gadgets to halt their processes. This means that the old pen and paper method will come in handy during this time. A hardware failure on the other hand may halt the process of the proposed system. If by any chance that the server where the system is installed does not function correctly, a system failure most likely occurs. The systems database is also limited to the maximum capacity of MSSQL and the disk space of the system where the proposed system is currently installed. The common solution is to print the contents or store it in a different media for backup. The proposed system is limited to the calculations and the display of other information. It will not handle any data manipulation such as edit and delete function for it will open the idea of staff to manipulate such an important the data. Definition of terms Loan: An arrangement in which a lender gives money or property to a borrower and the borrower agrees to return the property or repay the money. Debtor: An individual or company that owes debt to another individual or company, as a result of borrowing or issuing bonds also called obligor. Clientele: The client or customers, as of a professional person or shop, considered collectively; a group or body of clients. Lend: To grant the use of money or something else of value, with the understanding that it or something else of will be returned at a future date value. Money Lending System: is money lending application software developed to which able to process large volume of records and transaction data in companies. Interest: The fee charged by a lender to a borrower for the use of borrowed money. Lender: A private, public or institutional entity which makes funds available to others to borrow. Database: consists of an organized collection of data for one or more uses, typically in digital form. Administrator: a person for the performance or management of administrative business operations Human resources: is a term used to describe the individuals who comprise the workforce of an organization, although it is also applied in labor economics to, for example, business sectors or even whole nations. Human resources is also the name of the function within an organization charged with the overall responsibility for implementing strategies and policies relating to the management of individuals (i.e. the human resources). This function title is often abbreviated to the initials HR. User-Interface: is (a place) where interaction between humans and machines occurs. The goal of interaction between a human and a machine at the user interface is effective operation and control of the machine, and feedback from the machine which aids the operator in making operational decisions. Credentials: is an attestation of qualification, competence, or authority issued to an individual by a third party with a relevant de jure or de facto authority or assumed competence to do so. Automated System: is the use of control systems and information technologies to reduce the need for human work in the production of goods and services. In the scope of industrialization, automation is a step beyond mechanization.

1. Analyze the fast food industry from the point of view of perfect competition. Include the concepts of elasticity, utility, costs, and market structure to explain the prices charged by fast food retailers. Firms within the fast food industry fall under the market structure of perfect competition. Market structure is a classification system for the key traits of a market. The characteristics of perfect competition include: large number of buyers and sellers, easy entry to and exit from the market, homogeneous products, and the firm is the price taker. Many fast food franchises fit all or most of these characteristics. Competition within the industry as well as market supply and demand conditions set the price of products sold. For example, when Wendy’s introduced its $.99 value menu, several other companies implemented the same type of changes to their menu. The demand for items on Wendy’s value menu was so high because they were offering the same products as always, but at a discounted price. This change in market demand basically forced Wendy’s competition to lower prices of items on their menu, in order to maintain their share of the market. The previous example illustrates the elasticity of the fast food industry. Supply and demand set the equilibrium price for goods offered by franchises within the industry. Hunted – Creative Writing
It was a cold, wet, December night and Macauley Taylor was casually strolling down the long, dark, winding lane, on this way back from a tiring football practice. He could feel his legs aching as he walked, having been crudely taken out towards the end. He just wanted to get home. Suddenly, three men appeared out of nowhere, at the end of the road. Macauley recognised these three men. â€Å"This is bad,†he thought to himself as he tentatively stepped nearer to them. Relief. He had successfully waded his way past the little huddle the men had made, with all his bones intact. All of a sudden, there was a shout of, â€Å"Get him!†and Macauley had three huge figures gunning him down. He could smell their foul putrid breath behind him. He could taste the hate in the words billowing from their mouths. He was running as fast as his tender feet would carry him. A warehouse gradually came into view through the dank darkness. He ran towards it, making quick, unexpected changes in the direction he was going, hoping to shake one of his pursuers off. He did this successfully and, before long, had found an empty storage compartment and hid in there, hoping none of them had seen him. He heard the three of them walking around, shouting his name, telling him that if he came out now, it wouldn't be half as bad for him as it would be if they had to find him. He was praying they wouldn't find him, as he quite liked his legs how they were. With all the bones NOT BROKEN. He could tell they were moving further away from him, as their voices were getting more and more distant. He was wondering about maybe making an escape sooner, and risk getting caught, or later. He knew his mother would be getting extremely worried about him as he normally got home around an hour ago. He made his mind up. Get home. He moved soundlessly to the door of the compartment and moved his head around the door. Luckily, no one was close and he was able to slide out and find his way back onto the country road. He'd made it. Safety. Thanking his lucky stars, Macauley made his way up the road. *BANG* A gunshot hit the night sky like the crack of a whip. Macauley sank down his knees, not in pain, in pure shock. He could feel blood pouring down his back as if someone had poured a glass of water down the back of his top. His whole life flashed before his eyes like one of those old drive-in movies. He thought of the things he regretted; things that were said, things that weren't†¦ He wished his mum were there, just so he could tell her how much he loved her. Just once. He never showed her how much he meant to her. Swiftly, a bright, tunnel of light emerged in front of him. Standing at the entrance of the tunnel, was his Dad. The Dad: who had died a year before. The Dad: who Macauley had spent every night of the following six months crying for, begging him to come back, to not leave him. The Dad: who was Macauley's hero in every walk of life was now here. Standing right in front of him. He said to him, â€Å"Don't be scared, son, it's all all right now†. He cautiously tiptoed towards him, then ran, then sprinted in the direction of his idol. He reached the end of the tunnel, and with it, came the end of his life on Earth.

Are Humans Naturally Evil Or Good When They Are Born
Exam essay Are humans naturally evil or good when they are born? This is a question was something argued over since humans have been on this planet.Everyone should think that humans are born, not raised, with the tendency and ability to do terrible acts even if we know they are evil and against our own moral code or our own legal agreements. The way he was raised keeps him from hitting them actually. But as the story progresses, he does more then throw small stones. He eventually is the one who pushes the rock, that lands on and kills Piggy. He doesn’t act shocked at his own actions, and instead he seems to be glad he is free of the chains society that held him back. Suddenly he is willing to torture other children and harm them.
